THIS BLOG WAS CREATED FROM THE VERY BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC'S FORMATION

Scarborough Athletic F.C were formed on June 25th 2007 following the winding up order imposed on the old club after the local council turned down the club's survival plans. The club were finally forced into liquidation with debts of £2.5 million by a High Court judge, and so ended the club's magnificent 128 year history, no thoughts or consideration was to be spared for anyone connected with the club or the towns footballing public. However a trust had been formed and we were prepared for such a situation should it arise. The Seadog Trust applied to the Northern Counties East League to enter newly formed Scarborough Athletic and they were succesful in their application.
The new club are a continuation of the old one, they have the same kit, badge, motto etc and most importantly have kept a large number of the old supporters. This blog was started by me from the very beginnings of Scarborough Athletic FC and will follow the fortunes, both good and bad of the newly formed club as they try to get back to the higher levels of the football pyramid where they rightly belong. A rival team has also been formed 'Scarborough Town', I do not expect that particular club will have much of a future, but do they realise the damage that they are causing to the future success of football in the town, our town cannot support 2 teams, Athetic are here to stay, we are the town's number one football team and will return to the higher levels of the game in the next few seasons..


THIS BLOG WAS ESTABLISHED FROM THE BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE CLUB ON THEIR JOURNEY BACK TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I AM NOT HERE TO ADVERTISE OR MAKE MONEY FROM 3RD PARTY LISTINGS, I AM HERE TO SIMPLY FOLLOW THE CLUB AND TRY TO KEEP THIS BLOG AS INTERESTING AS POSSIBLE. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME.

EXCELLENT 'POST' BY GOALKEEPER - SAM DOBBS

I DO NOT NORMALLY LIKE TO BE TOO SERIOUS WITH MY POSTS BUT I THINK OUR CLUB NEED TO SORT OUT SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO ATTEND BORO GAMES.
I HAVE JUST LOOKED ON THE SURFING SEADOG SITE, SOMETHING I VERY RARELY DO, BUT THE POST BY THE NOSTELL MW GOALKEEPER 'SAM DOBBS' WAS EXCELLENT.
I COULD NOT MAKE YESTERDAYS GAME BUT IT APPEARS THAT THE USUAL IDIOTS WHO CALL THEMSELVES SUPPORTERS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC DID, AND THEY HAVE ONCE AGAIN LET THEMSELVES AND THE CLUB DOWN.
I ATTEND MOST GAMES AND IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS NEARLY ALWAYS SOMEONE WEARING 'BORO' COLOURS WHO JUST MAKE YOU CRINGE AND FEEL EMBARRASED AT THEIR ACTIONS.
I WAS AT BOTH THE CUP GAMES LAST SEASON AND I THINK SAM DOBBS IS AN EXCELLENT 'KEEPER, THERE IS A LINE BETWEEN GOOD HUMOURED BANTER, WHICH IS WHAT THE MAJORITY OF OUR GREAT SUPPORTERS CARRY OUT AND UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR WHICH APPLIES TO PERHAPS A HALF DOZEN AT THE MOST, AND IT APPEARS THAT YESTERDAY SAM WAS SUBJECTED TO THE LATTER , THIS SORT OF BEHAVIOUR WILL DO THE CLUB NO GOOD AT ALL, AND HOPEFULLY THE BOARD WILL REACT AND USE THEIR POWERS TO STOP THE INDIVIDUALS CONCERNED FROM DRAGGING THE GOOD NAME OF OUR CLUB DOWNWARDS. THE CLUB DO NOT NEED THESE IDIOTS AND GENUINE FANS WOULD SOONER THEY DID NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THEM ALSO.FROM WHAT SAM WROTE, HE COULD HAVE MADE AN ISSUE OF SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WENT ON, BUT HE HAS CHOSEN NOT TO, HE ALSO WROTE ABOUT SOME FANS HAVING A GO AT BORO KEEPER ARRON REID WHO MADE A MISTAKE LEADING TO NOSTELLS WINNING GOAL, I AM NOT A FAN OF REID, BUT AS SAM SAYS, GOALKEEPING IS ABOUT CONFIDENCE AND FANS SHOULD NOT VERBALLY RIDICULE THEIR OWN PLAYERS, NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION. TROUBLE IS A HANDFUL OF OUR FANS THINK WE ARE A 'BIG' CLUB PLAYING BENEATH OURSELVES AND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO WIN EVERY GAME AND BRAG ABOUT THE NUMBER OF FANS WE TAKE TO GAMES, WE ARE A CLUB ON LEVEL TERMS WITH OUR OPPONENTS BUT WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME A 'BIGGER' CLUB, BUT THAT IS ALL IN THE FUTURE AND WE DO NOT WANT TO ALIENATE OURSELVES FROM THE REST OF THE CLUBS IN THE NCEL.I AM PROUD TO CALL MYSELF A SUPPORTER OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC AND SO ARE AROUND 600 OTHERS, I DO NOT FEEL SO PROUD THOUGH WHEN SOME OF THE IDIOTS IN QUESTION WEARING THE SAME SHIRT AS MYSELF AND STANDING CLOSE BY ARE SHOUTING ABSOLOUTE FOUL MOUTHED RUBBISH AT OPPOSING FANS AND PLAYERS.
