THIS BLOG WAS CREATED FROM THE VERY BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC'S FORMATION

Scarborough Athletic F.C were formed on June 25th 2007 following the winding up order imposed on the old club after the local council turned down the club's survival plans. The club were finally forced into liquidation with debts of £2.5 million by a High Court judge, and so ended the club's magnificent 128 year history, no thoughts or consideration was to be spared for anyone connected with the club or the towns footballing public. However a trust had been formed and we were prepared for such a situation should it arise. The Seadog Trust applied to the Northern Counties East League to enter newly formed Scarborough Athletic and they were succesful in their application.
The new club are a continuation of the old one, they have the same kit, badge, motto etc and most importantly have kept a large number of the old supporters. This blog was started by me from the very beginnings of Scarborough Athletic FC and will follow the fortunes, both good and bad of the newly formed club as they try to get back to the higher levels of the football pyramid where they rightly belong. A rival team has also been formed 'Scarborough Town', I do not expect that particular club will have much of a future, but do they realise the damage that they are causing to the future success of football in the town, our town cannot support 2 teams, Athetic are here to stay, we are the town's number one football team and will return to the higher levels of the game in the next few seasons..

THIS BLOG WAS ESTABLISHED FROM THE BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE CLUB ON THEIR JOURNEY BACK TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I AM NOT HERE TO ADVERTISE OR MAKE MONEY FROM 3RD PARTY LISTINGS, I AM HERE TO SIMPLY FOLLOW THE CLUB AND TRY TO KEEP THIS BLOG AS INTERESTING AS POSSIBLE. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME.

EMLEY HOME-DINNINGTON AWAY. "UP THE BORO"

Scarborough Athletic return to league action on Sunday, kick-off 1.00p.m, at home to Emley.
Boro have already taken three points from the away match at Emley back in September following an exciting 3-2 victory.

Emley are having mixed fortunes at the moment, their last game ended in a 4-0 defeat at home to Rainworth Miners Welfare, but only four days earlier they were at the other side of a 4-0 scoreline, defeating a decent looking Hall Road Rangers side by that very same score, previously to that was a 1-1 draw with Tadcaster Albion, three days prior to that result saw Emley lose 1-0 to table toppers Dinnington Town and finally in this short round-up, their game before the Dinnington defeat saw Emley beat Borrowash Athletic 5-2.
So, Emley have proved to be unpredictable and maybe should not be considered an easy match just because of our away victory. Let's hope for a good entertaining game and clear skies after all the rain over the past few weeks.
I will not be at the Emley match as I am away all weekend, so I am looking forward to the journey to South Yorkshire the following week as we travel to "top of the table" Dinnington Town.

We have not played Dinnington yet, they are in excellent form, they have won 12, drawn 4 and lost only 1 league match, they also have the best goal-difference record and their leading scorer "Ant Lynam" is not only the clubs leading scorer but also the leagues leading goalscorer. He has netted 20 goals so far, 12 at home and 8 away, so he will have to be closely watched, we do have an excellent defence and I am confident that he will not be given much time on the ball.
Dinnington actually had a rare defeat only last week, they were beaten 2-1 in the cup encounter against Bottesford Town, their website has a short match report which is titled "30 SECONDS OF MADNESS", It says how Dinnington were the far better side and after taking the lead in the 56th minute they remained confident and looked set to be worthy winners, but in the third minute of injury time came the 30 seconds of madness referrsed to in the report as Bottesford grabbed 2 goals to snatch a dramatic victory and send Dinnington crashing out of the competition.
4 day's later though normal "league" service was resumed as Dinnington took on Hall Road Rangers and both Ant Lynam and Simon Mirfin were on target with a goal each to give Dinnington a 2-0 victory.I have copied the directions to Dinnington F.C from their own website. SEE BELOW..........
