Scarborough Athletic were surprisingly held 2-2 at home by Maltby Main yesterday, Boro had taken a 2-0 lead but Maltby shared the points thanks to 2 late Greg Mason goals in the 80th and 82nd minutes of the game.
Elsewhere, Rainworth MW maintained their 3 point lead at the top of the table thanks to a great 6-0 victory away to Lincoln Moorlands Railway, a game which saw Ant Lynam in goalscoring mood once again as he grabbed 2 first half goals for Welfare.
Bridlington Town had an away victory also, they took all 3 point's in their 2-0 victory at Parkgate, Alex Rhodes getting both Town goals in the first half of the game.
Armthorpe Welfare must really frustrate their fans (all 37 of them who bothered to turn up yesterday) as they once again dropped points, they were held 1-1 at home by Arnold Town. The attendance at Queensgate for Scarborough Athletic's match was 471, a terrific turnout considering we are so close to Christmas.
The next game for Scarborough Athletic is the short 20 mile trip across the moors on Wednesday evening for a NRS Cup 3rd round tie at Whitby Town. A large following of Boro fans should be on the road that night as up to 6 Town players with links to the old Scarborough FC could be in the Whitby Town squad, it would also be nice to see Ryan Blott have a good game for us on the night and let Whitby see just what they have missed out on by letting him return to 'Boro', so it should be a great night with a good atmosphere inside the ground.
3 days later 'Boro' will get the chance to improve on the 2-2 home draw with Maltby yesterday as they travel to Maltby for the return fixture..
