THIS BLOG WAS CREATED FROM THE VERY BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC'S FORMATION

Scarborough Athletic F.C were formed on June 25th 2007 following the winding up order imposed on the old club after the local council turned down the club's survival plans. The club were finally forced into liquidation with debts of £2.5 million by a High Court judge, and so ended the club's magnificent 128 year history, no thoughts or consideration was to be spared for anyone connected with the club or the towns footballing public. However a trust had been formed and we were prepared for such a situation should it arise. The Seadog Trust applied to the Northern Counties East League to enter newly formed Scarborough Athletic and they were succesful in their application.
The new club are a continuation of the old one, they have the same kit, badge, motto etc and most importantly have kept a large number of the old supporters. This blog was started by me from the very beginnings of Scarborough Athletic FC and will follow the fortunes, both good and bad of the newly formed club as they try to get back to the higher levels of the football pyramid where they rightly belong. A rival team has also been formed 'Scarborough Town', I do not expect that particular club will have much of a future, but do they realise the damage that they are causing to the future success of football in the town, our town cannot support 2 teams, Athetic are here to stay, we are the town's number one football team and will return to the higher levels of the game in the next few seasons..

THIS BLOG WAS ESTABLISHED FROM THE BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE CLUB ON THEIR JOURNEY BACK TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I AM NOT HERE TO ADVERTISE OR MAKE MONEY FROM 3RD PARTY LISTINGS, I AM HERE TO SIMPLY FOLLOW THE CLUB AND TRY TO KEEP THIS BLOG AS INTERESTING AS POSSIBLE. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME.

4 HOME GAMES TO LOOK FORWARD TO.

ALL ROADS LEAD TO 'QUEENSGATE' FOR OUR NEXT FOUR FIXTURES.
SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC HAVE THE LUXURY OF PLAYING THEIR NEXT FOUR LEAGUE GAMES ALL AT HOME.
REALISTICALLY WE ARE CAPABLE OF WINNING ALL FOUR GAMES AND THE TWELVE POINTS GAINED IF WE DO JUST THAT WILL SURELY SEE US IN A HEALTHIER POSITION IN THE LEAGUE TABLE.
TOMMOROW SEES GEDLING TOWN VISIT QUEENSGATE FOR THE FIRST TIME, WE MANAGED A 2-1 VICTORY AWAY TO THEM AT THEIR PICTURESQUE 'RIVERSIDE GROUND' GROUND BACK IN NOVEMBER, AND ALTHOUGH THEY ARE PLAYING SOME GOOD FOOTBALL OF LATE, BORO SHOULD BAG ALL THE POINTS ON OFFER TOMMOROW.
THEN OUR NEXT GAME WILL BE ON MONDAY 24th MARCH WHEN DERBY BASED BORROWASH ARE THE VISITORS, WE ARE YET TO PLAY THIS TEAM AWAY DUE TO A POSTPONMENT, WE DO ACTUALLY PLAY THAT REARRANGED GAME ON 19th APRIL, OUR LAST SCHEDULED AWAY FIXTURE OF THE SEASON. AGAIN THREE POINTS SHOULD BE GAINED FROM THIS ENCOUNTER.
THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY (MARCH 29th) SEES TEVERSAL COME TO QUEENSGATE, WE PLAYED 'TEVVIE' IN OUR VERY FIRST GAME IN THIS LEAGUE WAY BACK ON 11th AUGUST WHEN WE WERE BEATEN 2-1, IT WILL BE GOOD TO WELCOME ALL THE 'TEVVIE' FANS WHO MAKE THE TRIP TO QUEENSGATE AND GIVE THEM THE SAME RESPECT AND HOSPITALITY WHICH WE RECEIVED ON THAT FIRST DAY OF THE NEW SEASON.
THEN ON SUNDAY APRIL 6th WE WELCOME HIGH FLYERS AND 'ALMOST CERTAIN TO BE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS' DINNINGTON TO OUR PLACE, WE WERE BEATEN 4-2 AWAY TO DINNINGTON, AND THEY REALLY ARE A WELL ORGANISED TEAM AND DESERVE TO BE WHERE THEY ARE IN THE LEAGUE. THEY ARE EASILY THE BEST TEAM THAT I HAVE SEEN IN THIS LEAGUE. THEY ARE A BIG STRONG SIDE AS WELL AS BEING A SKILLFUL AND WELL ORGANISED SIDE.
BORO ARE CAPABLE OF BEATING THEM, BUT IT WILL BE A VERY DIFFICULT GAME, THEY WILL BE AWARE OF OUR NEW STRENGTHS AND THE IMPROVEMENTS WE HAVE MADE SINCE THAT 4-2 DEFEAT.
THERE SHOULD BE A GOOD CROWD AT QUEENSGATE TOMMOROW AND IF THE FANS SEE A GOOD PERFORMANCE AND THE TEAM COLLECT THREE POINTS, THEN THEY SHOULD ALL RETURN FOR THE NEXT GAME AND SO ON, SO A GOOD TURNOVER FOR THE TRUST, HEALTHY BAR PROFITS FOR OUR HOSTS 'BRIDLINGTON TOWN FC' AND HOPEFULLY SOME GOOD FOOTBALL FOR THE LOYAL BORO FANS.
