THIS BLOG WAS CREATED FROM THE VERY BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC'S FORMATION

Scarborough Athletic F.C were formed on June 25th 2007 following the winding up order imposed on the old club after the local council turned down the club's survival plans. The club were finally forced into liquidation with debts of £2.5 million by a High Court judge, and so ended the club's magnificent 128 year history, no thoughts or consideration was to be spared for anyone connected with the club or the towns footballing public. However a trust had been formed and we were prepared for such a situation should it arise. The Seadog Trust applied to the Northern Counties East League to enter newly formed Scarborough Athletic and they were succesful in their application.
The new club are a continuation of the old one, they have the same kit, badge, motto etc and most importantly have kept a large number of the old supporters. This blog was started by me from the very beginnings of Scarborough Athletic FC and will follow the fortunes, both good and bad of the newly formed club as they try to get back to the higher levels of the football pyramid where they rightly belong. A rival team has also been formed 'Scarborough Town', I do not expect that particular club will have much of a future, but do they realise the damage that they are causing to the future success of football in the town, our town cannot support 2 teams, Athetic are here to stay, we are the town's number one football team and will return to the higher levels of the game in the next few seasons..

THIS BLOG WAS ESTABLISHED FROM THE BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE CLUB ON THEIR JOURNEY BACK TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I AM NOT HERE TO ADVERTISE OR MAKE MONEY FROM 3RD PARTY LISTINGS, I AM HERE TO SIMPLY FOLLOW THE CLUB AND TRY TO KEEP THIS BLOG AS INTERESTING AS POSSIBLE. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME.

UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS BY EMLEY SUPPORTER

Scarborough Athletic and their excellent fans have had wild accusations thrown in their direction by Emley fans after the regretable way in which the game ended on Sunday. Although the problems were not of our doing, it only takes accusations such as these to blacken the good name of our club
An Emley fan has written to both the N.C.E.L and Scarborough Athletic regarding the situation inside the ground on Sunday, he says that around 50 of their supporters were fearful of leaving the ground and going to the car park without a police escort, they and the team members were also afraid that their cars would be vandalised. In truth not a single Emley fan was threatened in any way and no damage was done to any of their cars. The days problems were due to the fat ugly troublemaking twat "Green"the Emley goalkeeper , this idiot has a reputation for causing trouble and various other teams supporters and even a player have let us know that they have all suffered from his antics at some time. The other problem on the day was the way in which the officials handled the match, they were clearly intimidated by the size of the crowd, and I think they were probarbly fearful of the Emley keeper', why else was the twat allowed to stay on the field of play for almost 90 minutes, practically all of that time goading the Boro fans, swearing at them and even dropping his shorts at them, and even worse going up to them to celebrate when his team scored. He is no more than an average Sunday league player.
He was a disgrace and should have been dealt with very early on in the game.
Scarborough fans vented their anger at the inept officials and the twat of a goalie, away fans are never in any sort of danger where Boro fans are concerned. We are a credit to the club as any of the supporters and officials of the other clubs we have visited will no doubt verify.
When the Emley fan who wrote to the NCEL wrote about feeling intimidated, he needs to go to Rossington, those supporters did their best to cause trouble with us both home and away, but after intense intimidation we all ignored them and watched the football, I think any other clubs fans would have found it difficult to have done the same.
The problem is Scarborough have such a large support both home and away, and most of the players who we are up against may find the atmosphere a little daunting, the referees, in most cases certainly find it daunting, with the rare exception these have been some of the worst referees I have ever seen, I used to referee at local level, so I do not like to criticise officials as i know what a difficult task it can be, but if these officials are not up to the job, then the league should find some who are capable of taking charge.

BELOW IS A LETTER POSTED ON THE "SURFING SEADOG" FROM A DINNINGTON TOWN PLAYER WHO WILL BE UP AGAINST US ON SATURDAY.

Hi,
I play for Dinnington town and find it very interesting to read how well supported your club still is and your passion for the success of scarborough, i take my hat off to you.
I just felt the need to comment on the Emley goalkeeper, and to say im in no way suprised to find that he seems to be most people’s reason for the issues you faced on sunday. The lad is actually quite a good keeper, but when we beat them at their place he almost caused issues with our lads.Luckily for us most of the team have played above the NCEL and know how to deal with such people on the pitch, so the issues was quickly de-fused. But i can imagine that infront of a larger crowd he would upset people as he just dosent know how to keep his mouth shut. (Ive only met the bloke once but im sure you will agree its quite a precise description)
Id just like to say that anyone who has played Emley this season from our division will surely agree with your assesment of what happened, and that unfortunately for you, as mentioned in previous posts, a lot of the players in this division will not know how to deal with larger crowds.
Were looking forward to your visit to us on Saturday, and i can assure you that our players like to do the talking on the pitch and not to the fans. Although i might be guilty of giving the ref the occasional ’ear full’
All the best
Matt Griffin - Dinno Centre Half

I think that was a nice touch from Matt, and I am looking forward to watching Boro play at Dinnington on Saturday, I guess around 200 Boro fans will make the journey and I know there will be a terrific atmosphere and no bad feeling at the end, whatever the outcome.

SITUATIONS VACANT.

GOALKEEPER REQUIRED apply EMLEY F.C........................................

Not sure if Green is one of the above, or if they are applicants.
