THIS BLOG WAS CREATED FROM THE VERY BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC'S FORMATION

Scarborough Athletic F.C were formed on June 25th 2007 following the winding up order imposed on the old club after the local council turned down the club's survival plans. The club were finally forced into liquidation with debts of £2.5 million by a High Court judge, and so ended the club's magnificent 128 year history, no thoughts or consideration was to be spared for anyone connected with the club or the towns footballing public. However a trust had been formed and we were prepared for such a situation should it arise. The Seadog Trust applied to the Northern Counties East League to enter newly formed Scarborough Athletic and they were succesful in their application.
The new club are a continuation of the old one, they have the same kit, badge, motto etc and most importantly have kept a large number of the old supporters. This blog was started by me from the very beginnings of Scarborough Athletic FC and will follow the fortunes, both good and bad of the newly formed club as they try to get back to the higher levels of the football pyramid where they rightly belong. A rival team has also been formed 'Scarborough Town', I do not expect that particular club will have much of a future, but do they realise the damage that they are causing to the future success of football in the town, our town cannot support 2 teams, Athetic are here to stay, we are the town's number one football team and will return to the higher levels of the game in the next few seasons..

THIS BLOG WAS ESTABLISHED FROM THE BEGINNINGS OF SCARBOROUGH ATHLETIC AND WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE CLUB ON THEIR JOURNEY BACK TO THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I AM NOT HERE TO ADVERTISE OR MAKE MONEY FROM 3RD PARTY LISTINGS, I AM HERE TO SIMPLY FOLLOW THE CLUB AND TRY TO KEEP THIS BLOG AS INTERESTING AS POSSIBLE. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME.

BORO v WORSBROUGH. SAT 22nd SEP'T.

ONE OF THE MANY BORO SUPPORTERS CARS IN FRONT OF ME ON THEIR WAY TO QUEENSGATE.

ANOTHER SATURDAY, ANOTHER 15 MILE TRIP TO A HOME MATCH. TODAY'S OPPONENTS, "WORSBROUGH BRIDGE" FROM SOUTH YORKSHIRE. WORSBROUGH WERE YET TO WIN A GAME COMING INTO THEIR ENCOUNTER WITH "BORO", AND AFTER THE LAST COUPLE OF EXCELLENT PERFORMANCES FROM THE BORO TEAM, WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE GAME AHEAD CONFIDENTLY. I CERTAINLY WAS, BUT I MUST ADMIT THAT AFTER CHECKING OUT THE TEAM SHEET, I WAS NOT TOO HAPPY AT MATTY KENNETT NOT PLAYING, BUT AS I HAVE BEEN AWAY ON HOLIDAY, I WAS'NT SURE IF IT WAS A TACTICAL DECISION OR IF PERHAPS HE WAS STILL BEING BOTHERED BY INJURY. WE ALSO HAD "DODGY" DAVE BRAMLEY PLAYING IN GOAL.I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING HOW NEW SIGNING AND SKIPPER 'JAMIE WALTHAM' PERFORMED ALSO, HE IS FROM A HIGHER STANDARD OF FOOTBALL AND SHOULD BE A REAL ASSET TO THE SQUAD.
ANOTHER FULL CAR PARK.

WELL THE MATCH KICKED OFF, AND IT WAS A GREAT START FROM BORO AS SEEMS TO BE THE CASE THESE DAYS-ATTACKING STRAIGHT FROM THE KICK OFF, WE COULD HAVE BEEN A GOAL UP INSIDE 60 SECONDS.
BORO WERE THE FAR SUPERIOR SIDE, THEY OUTPLAYED AND OUTFOUGHT WORSBROUGH IN EVERY DEPARTMENT.
JAMIE WALTHAM WAS INSPIRATIONAL IN HIS SKIPPER'S ROLE, HE HARDLY PUT A FOOT WRONG AND HIS CLASS CLEARLY SHOWED, THE WHOLE TEAM WERE EXCELLENT, "DODGY" HAD A COUPLE OF MOMENTS, BUT TO BE FAIR, HE ALSO MADE A COUPLE OF REALLY CLASS SAVES.
ANDREW BROOKE IN THE WORSBROUGH GOAL SHOULD TRY A COUPLE OF CHILL PILL'S BEFORE A GAME, I THINK HE WAS LUCKY NOT TO BE SENT OFF ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS, HIS TIME WASTING TACTICS WERE SO BLATANT THROUGHOUT THE FIRST HALF, HE ALSO SHOUTED TO THE REF WHILE HE WAS AT THE OTHER END OF THE FIELD TO HOLD UP PLAY BEFORE LYING DOWN FEIGNING INJURY, THIS REFEREE WAS VERY POOR AND AT ONE POINT, PLAYERS WERE PLAYING 'HANDBAGS' AND CONTACT WAS MADE OFF THE BALL, AND HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS HAPPENING, NEITHER DID ANY OF HIS ASSISTANTS. I DON'T THINK HE HAD ANY KNOWLEDGE OF PLAYING "ADVANTAGE", AS A COUPLE OF HIS DECISIONS WERE SIMPLY BEYOND BELIEF.
I HAVE REFEREED AT LOCAL LEVEL, AND KNOW HOW DIFFICULT A JOB IT IS, AND THAT IS WHY YOU WILL HARDLY EVER READ ME HAVING A DIG AT OFFICIALS, BUT THIS REF WAS JUST NOT UP TO THE STANDARD EXPECTED AT THIS LEVEL OF FOOTBALL. BROOKE WOULD HAVE RECEIVED A RED CARD FROM ME FOR HIS PERSISTENT DISSENT AND NIGGLING BEHAVIOUR TOWARD THE BORO ATTACKERS.
ANYWAY, FROM A BORO POINT OF VIEW, IT WAS ANOTHER FINE PERFORMANCE, EXCELLENT PASSING, SKILLFUL PLAY AND TOTAL DOMINANCE AND THE 4-0 SCORELINE COULD HAVE BEEN EVEN GREATER
IT WAS NICE TO SEE ANOTHER MAGNIFICENT TURN OUT OF FANS, AND NEXT WEEK'S TRIP TO HALL ROAD RANGERS SHOULD PROVE TO BE A REALLY ENTERTAINING GAME, SO LETS HOPE FOR YET ANOTHER LARGE AWAY FOLLOWING.
ANDREW BROOKE AND HIS 'INJURY', CHEATING, BLATANT TIMEWASTER.

I ARE'NT SURE OF OUR LEAGUE POSITION TODAY, BUT I THINK WE WILL BE IN THE TOP THREE, OR NOT FAR OFF."UP THE BORO"...............................................................................................
